What the sim shows
Compare viable seeds of the same kind over the same period. Water, oxygen and suitable warmth are required. Light is not required for germination in this example. All five seeds are assumed viable; the start day and root-growth rate are teaching examples, not predictions for a species.
- The rack shows matching seed replicates under the chosen conditions. It is uncovered for inspection, including after dark incubation. Oxygen exclusion assumes an oxygen-free incubation chamber. Root detail is visible through the porous cotton wool.
