What the sim shows

Compare equal amounts of germinating seeds and boiled seeds in identical insulated flasks. Both start at room temperature. The rising thermometer shows energy released during respiration. Antiseptic reduces microbial respiration as a confounding source. Heat output and heat loss here are declared illustrative constants, not measurements of a seed species.

  • Left flask: chosen seed sample. Right flask: boiled-seed reference. Use the same antiseptic treatment for both.
