Sewage treatment: oxygen and decomposition sim
This bench model follows screening, settlement, aerobic treatment of the liquid and anaerobic digestion of sludge.
Sewage treatment · oxygen and decomposition · covers the GCSE, IGCSE, O-Level topic
What the sim shows
This bench model follows screening, settlement, aerobic treatment of the liquid and anaerobic digestion of sludge. Aeration replenishes oxygen for aerobic decomposers. The sealed digester releases biogas. The numbers are relative biodegradable-carbon and oxygen quantities using declared illustrative rates; they are not water-quality or plant-design data.
- Left: screen and settlement vessel. Middle: aerated liquid. Right: sealed sludge digester and gas collection. Treatment reduces biodegradable material; the output is not demonstrated safe to drink.
