Photosynthesis: collect oxygen from pondweed sim
Pondweed lies under an inverted funnel in water.
Photosynthesis · collect oxygen from pondweed · covers the GCSE, IGCSE, O-Level topic
What the sim shows
Pondweed lies under an inverted funnel in water. Oxygen collects at the closed top of a water-filled inverted measuring tube. Change lamp distance, carbon dioxide supply or temperature, and compare gas volume over the same time. The declared teaching rate uses an inverse-square light model and a limiting-factor minimum; real pondweed rates need measurement.
- The close-up shows the collected gas at the top. Bubble count depends on bubble size; gas volume gives the fairer comparison. Lamp distance is the set separation for each trial.
